Professional drum lessons in The Hague Den Haag for children, teenagers, adults and expats.
Structured. Personal. Serious musical growth.
At my private studio in Den Haag, drum lessons are designed for students who want more than casual playing.
Learning the drums is not only about rhythm — it is about developing coordination, musical understanding, discipline, creativity, and confidence. Lessons are based on real experience from performing, recording and teaching professionally.
After graduating cum laude from the Utrecht Conservatory and years of professional performing experience, I offer a structured learning path tailored to each individual student. Every lesson builds on a clear foundation:
• Technical development and sound
• Timing, groove and control
• Reading and musical awareness
• Stylistic understanding (pop, rock, jazz and more)
• Improvisation and personal expression
Lessons are available for students aged 8 and above, teenagers with ambition, and adults seeking focused, high-quality guidance.
This is a long-term learning process built on commitment and consistency. Students who thrive here are curious, motivated, and willing to invest in their development.

What to Expect
In my lessons, I share my passion for music with children, (young) adults, beginners, advanced students, and professionals. No fixed curriculum – every lesson is tailor-made.
Music-making starts with listening. You'll learn how rhythms are built, what defines a specific musical style, and how it all sounds and feels.
I demonstrate a lot and play along with you during the lesson. I’ll point out what matters most when playing a particular style, exercise, or piece of music.
Movement and Balance Shape Your Sound
Good movement and balance are key. They bring speed, dynamics, coordination, and tone – but also calmness in your playing and trust in your body. Before anything else, your body needs to understand what it should do. That understanding comes from focused, slow, and mindful practice.
This approach helps you observe yourself better and become aware of how movements relate between limbs. All great musicians have excellent timing – and that often comes from mastering their movement.
I offer practical exercises that help you study efficiently and smart. I use proven materials that translate directly into your playing.
Once you start playing with others, it’s essential to let go of what you've practiced and make music with an open mind. Step away from the physical side of playing and trust your body. Dare to move outside your comfort zone – that’s when you can respond intuitively to the music around you and become a source of inspiration for others.
